[That's usually how it works.] Do you miss home, Harry? I miss home sometimes.

Uhhh. I mean. I don't know, there's shit about home that I miss, sure, but aside from Harry and... sort of Harmony, I don't really think I had much going on. And here... I maybe got a little more happening here - weirdly - so, you know. I'm pretty cool either way. Are you talking about just, home home, or the whole planet type home? I mean either way my answer's the same, I think, but, yeah.

Just home home. Not as attached to the planet except that it has home on it. [She ponders the whole idea of it.]

I think there's stuff about home that I miss too. I loved here when Jill was here.

[Lucy gets up and retrieves a framed picture from one of the tables. It's of her and Jill in the City. She sits back down and hands it to him.]

She's my best friend. Back home and she was here for a little while 'til the City sent her back.

Although tbh at this point idk if he'd be that surprised about where the picture was taken - his mild surprise just there was more that she and her friend were being used for decor. ]

Well, you know, it's not really that bad here. I mean there's something to be said for a place you can do heroic shit sometimes and still wake up the next morning. Orrrr... Have a big creepy clock, or meet people from another... whatever.

I think I'm having a phase. I loved the City a lot for a long time. I've just lost a lot of people recently and it's getting harder to like it, you know?

[ It's Lucy, she was probably dancing on the tables that were somehow deposited on the roof of the bar at some point in the night. ]

Yeah, I feel that. I've had that before. Not really a whole lot of fun. [ Nudge. ] But hey, I mean, I'll hang out with you anyway. In the phase.

[Precisely! She probably supervised the depositing of the tables of the roof.

She smiles a bit sadly at him and nudges him back before laying her head on his shoulder.]

He considers this for a second. ] Thank you. I... think. Is that like being called 'safe'? Or is it just generically a good thing. I think it sounds like a good thing. So thanks! I mean. I'm sorry you feel bad still. But thanks.

Safe and a generically good thing? I mean I feel like I'm safe with you, so that's good, right?

[She shrugs.] Right now, I don't feel much of anything so that's a plus.

Yeah, that's nice of you.

Wait, no, that's bad. You're not supposed to not feel anything - I'm pretty sure that's not great. You're not drinking things right. There's supposed to be all low and warm and talkative. Or possibly, you could get sleepy, or even angry, but if you're gonna get angry please don't do it around me.

At least I'm not all heartbroken girl. [And whether she wants to admit it or not, she really is and that's why she's here drinking far too much.]


Ooooh show me the way on this low and warm and talkative or Might Master Harry. [Teasing.] Don't worry. I'm not really an angry sort of girl. I go with happy, sad and forced happy most of the time.

What the hell is a Might Master, that sounds terrible. You're sort of doing it just without all the numb shit and don't slide down into forced happy. Do what I do - drink, get a little dizzy, and then ramble from the mouth until you're either back at your house, you get kissed to shut up, or someone just yells at you to. I think. Maybe don't do what I do. Just - [ prod ] - stop being numb. Numb's bad. Numb's worse than unhappy.

You know, like a title. King of the Key to Killing your...I can't think of any other K words. [She takes a sip of her drink and watches him, a grin sneaking over her lips.]

Doing what you do doesn't sound so bad. Okay, so Drunk- feng shi master, direct me to this dizzy and ramble.

[ He squints at her. ] You can't... it doesn't work like that, okay. You've just got to-- you know. I keep talking. It works. Are you dizzy yet? [ He pushes the rest of his drink towards her in case she needs it. ] Gotta be a little bit dizzy. Not too much. That's anti-helpful. Not helpful. But you get there and if you've got bad stuff and you wanna talk it out then you just sort of open up and it all floats away for a while and if you've got nothing you just keep sort of going on about whatever you're thinking about and maybe you'll find someone who was thinking about the same thing and then you talk until someone passes out and you keep going until any of the things I mentioned earlier happen to you. Or something.

[She takes a sip of his drink because it can't hurt. Maybe his drink has special dizzy-making properties.] Did you just roofy me? Or us. I guess it'd be us since you're drinking too. Okay, just talking. I can do the just talking thing. You know I was super anti-relationship when I first came here? Well maybe not super but my first relationship didn't go very well and so I responded with this whole not!relationship thing and then I got here and I met the other Harry and this place was awful and I just sort of ended up in a relationship with him. Eventually calling him my not!boyfriend got ridiculous and I sort of loved him and I was afraid he was evil but you can't just unlove someone when you want can you? So yeah....

[She'll grab his drink again, roofied or otherwise and take another swig.] And I got okay with him being gone and god this sounds awful but at least I got the flat and the bank account and a laser screwdriver. Except it's sort of like a laser gun since I don't think it screws anything except what you point it at and then it blows it up. It's fun. We should go blow things up with the laser gun.

[And she's getting the laser screwdriver thing out of her purse. it definitely looks more like a laser screwdriver than a gun.]</small. See.

[ He's only slightly winded because I just now realised exactly how long that sentence was. Which is fine, because now she's talking and that was sort of the point. Harry's a fairly firm believer in the talking-helps-fix-things mentality, even if he can't prove why or explain how, considering it's talking that also seems to cause a lot of problems in the first place. ]

You have a— wow you totally do. That sounds like a... really bad idea. What should we blow up?

[ He's going to come back to the other part, okay - you took a laser gun out of your purse. It's a little distracting. ]

[it was a rather long sentence. Talking does sometimes fix things. Or at least it makes people feel better to get it out and off their chests. That's sort of where Lucy is at. Maybe. She's not sure yet.]

I don't know. [She considers that a moment] We could go to the store and blow up bubble bath.

[It's okay. She understands. It is distracting.] I'm supposed to carry this with me everywhere. It gets lost in my purse sometimes though.

Why are you s'posed to walk around with that? That also seems like a really bad idea, and I'm not usually the guy pointing out the bad ideas. Can you blow up bubb— No, I mean, like [ explosion noise ] blow up, bubble bath.

You know. Dangerous City. Bad people. Yadda yadda self protection? I blew up a carousel horse once when it attacked me.

[She considers that for a moment.]

It blows up the bottles, I think. Bubble bath sort of goes everywhere.

You-- what? A carousel horse? How did that even happen? All you have to do is run in a straight line to get away from one.

[ And then he considers that for a second. ]

Does it make the like, oily bubbles? Oily rainbow bubble explosions.

They jumped off the carousel horse and were chasing people down. It hit my shoulder and left a huge bruise.

[She has to consider that as well.] I don't know? I haven't actually ever tried it.
